About the Role
We are hiring a Part-Time Afterschool Educator to design and lead safe, engaging afterschool programming for children ages 4–7. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early childhood education, afterschool care, and creative learning.
Responsibilities
- Lead developmentally appropriate activities for small, mixed-age groups
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and fun afterschool environment
- Provide and supervise healthy snacks
- Coordinate daily student pick-up and family communications
- Keep accurate records of attendance, incidents, and daily activities
- Respond effectively to emergencies and uphold safety procedures
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience working with children in educational, childcare, or camp settings
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage small groups independently
- Reliable, self-directed, and comfortable working with minimal supervision
- Ability to pass a background check and provide references
Preferred:
- Montessori training or certification (AMI, AMS, NAMC)
- Bilingual skills or experience serving multilingual families
- Degree or certification in early childhood education or related field
