Royal Mail has a vacancy for an experienced and strategically minded Property Strategy Manager to lead the development and delivery of property project solutions across the Royal Mail and Parcelforce estate. This role is integral to our transformation and investment plans, helping to optimise our property portfolio and support long-term business changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine customer requirements and develop effective property portfolio solutions and translate business strategy into property strategies and plans.
- Initiate projects and coordinate with construction leads and stakeholders to define scope, programme, and cost implications.
- The full end to end management of property projects to include the initial design, developing business cases, stakeholder engagement, financial and costing analysis, presenting to the board, and hand over.
- Influence and challenge business unit planning to ensure sound commercial decisions and maximum value from the estate.
- Develop and integrate property strategy with future business plans, ensuring financial impacts are reflected in investment planning.
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing robust business cases for property-sponsored projects.
- Manage the property element of the authority process, ensuring quality, timeliness, and financial accuracy of submissions.
- Be a subject matter expert for portfolio strategy within your area of accountability.
Location – UK based, with a requirement to attend the Leeds and London offices on a regular basis, plus occasional site visits.
Skills and Experience - you need to demonstrate the following skills and experience on your CV:
- Experience in developing and implementing property portfolio strategies within large, complex organisations.
- From a property background with a good understanding of property markets, development processes, construction, operations, and lifecycle costs.
- Property project management experience, from initial design to deployment.
- Strategic thinker with a proven track record of delivering innovative property solutions.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to align property strategy with business objectives.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and consultancy skills.
- Strong problem solving, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience with ArcGIS and advanced Excel skills is advantageous.
